I wanted to sell my old furniture and other tools as I am relocating. I had never indulged in this activity of buying or selling used stuff online. I shared my situation with my friends and they purchased products for which they had use and for the rest of the stuff they referred to me the online means. They also warned about how people can use numbers posted just to irritate you for their enjoyment. I turned to one of my friends who has sold and bought a wide array of products online. While chatting with individuals I was able to respond the interested buyers with photographs. It also helped me and them both. With the photographs they were able to know the product very well and even I was able to justify the product’s price. As I had few products with the original copy of the bill, I shared the bill’s photograph with the buyers and they were simply elated to know the product was still in warranty period.

The chat feature of Quikr has truly proved to be of great help for me. I could save money and time that I would have spent on calls. I could keep track of conversations, which would have confused me. I have sold a lot of my products through Quikr.

I am in the IT field and need separate laptop to work. My work widely depends on the machine and that is why we need a machine that could cater my needs properly. Apart from the basic need of the laptop I also it to be able to give good enough multimedia experience. A fast processor and good graphic card is also desirable.

I have this habit of taking my 1TB hard disks with me and that is why 32GB EMMC works totally fine for me and cater all my needs beautifully. I have also used a 64GB SD card to expand the memory.

The web storage feature is also quite helpful and has helped me a lot after I had synced all my devices. Even if I don’t carry my hard drive I am still able to store my important files and access them through web storage.

As my dad also needs powerful computer performing well for his tasks I have gone for ASUS all in one PC ET2040. My dad needs a PC that could help him with the share market trades and easy to use. He also does not want to lose the important trades just because of the power cut and the ASUS’s built in UPS is a sure delight for that.

Love is something that can make your world go round. It is indeed one of the purest emotions and one of the most complicated ones. As Valentine’s Day is approaching people are busy trying to find ways to woo their partner and looking for that one perfect surprise for their better half. I remember my first valentine day with my sweetheart. I was frantically searching for that one gift, that one surprise which could sweep her off her feet. I hadn’t officially proposed her and this was a perfect time.

I visited local market and checked almost every gift shop in my area. As I was a college student that time, budget was the main constraint for me. I used to take tuitions of few students to bear my own expenses. I had little savings from the tuition fee that I collected. My budget was 500 bucks and couldn’t go a penny more than that. It was the top end of the amount I was willing to shell.

I considered various options from greeting cards to printed mugs to some imitation jewelry but could not settle on anyone. They were missing that appeal that I needed. I was pondering over the thought of what to gift my girl and nothing seemed to work for the proposal.

I was sitting alone on a road side stand having cup of tea and that is when I found eureka moment. From the first sip to last, I planned my perfect proposal.

I am an engineer and my branch was Electronics and Communication. I knew how to make small programs and robots. I made a small valentine project for her. I immediately bought an LCD, few LED bulbs, switches and connecting wires.

I already had an Arduino and was okay in using it for her. We met on Valentine’s Day and I introduced her to the surprise. The LCD was displaying few sweet words and then there were few questions, which needed to be answered in yes or no. She was astonished and was excited to know where these questions would take her. She reached the second last question. As soon she answered that the LEDs glowed forming the shape of a heart and on the display there was this one thing displayed “I love you, will you be my valentine”.

She was touched and tears rolled down her cheek and she nodded her headed saying “I love you too and yes I would love to be your valentine”. I said “Answer it there”, pointing towards the surprise. She pressed the switch for yes and her favorite song started playing.

I played guitar for her and she patiently listened to it and then we chatted and munched on the chips and the coke that I had bought with the left amount.

Sometimes to woo your loved one the only thing you need is a thought and will to execute it.

Litterbugs- Are They Aliens Or We Are ?

Keeping our country clean is a hot topic these days and in every week or two, we come across snaps or news of someone posing with a broom and a clean spot. In the chain of these moments for cleaner India, I came across a unique term Litterbug. The characteristics of this bug was similar to that of normal human being but wait there is a small difference between them and the normal humans, their mind was controlled by a bug.

I guess they are alien beings from some sci-fi movies like MIB (Men in Black) where a healthy society means stinky ones. I do not know from where these alien beings descended. I guess the planet from where they descended must be Saturn. When Saturn could not accommodate the litter, it ended up having the litter ring around itself.

Well Litterbug is pretty much like a bookworm. The way bookworm loves books in the same way a Litterbug loves litter or littering to be slightly more specific. You can locate this species anywhere in India. They are united by a cause and if I were to pick a cause for which India has united in such big numbers after independence then it has to be this one.

Litterbugs are very generous and path guiding. They would litter a clean place first, which shows their leadership skills and then all the low ranked (hesitant Litterbugs) would join the force and litter the place whole-heartedly.

I looked for these species after I heard the phrase The Great Indian Litterbug. I spotted one quite quickly. I was waiting for the traffic light to turn green and that is when something caught my attention as I gazed through the crowd of motorists. It was a man with a broom. I saw his body turning stiff and expressions on his face became intense. I feared something happening that should only happen behind the walls of the bedroom or washroom but no he was going to do something artistic. He spat on the wall and left his mark of presence there. Soon after a man, standing next to him did the same. I guess they both brushed their invisible tentacles and passed the information to each other that this is the place to litter.

From that time on, I have seen more human with Litterbug characteristics than the one with normal human. It led me to believe may be we are from some other planet and have intruded into the basic lifestyle of these Litterbugs and troubling them.

I guess my alien instincts to keep my home and my surrounding clean will always be there and would hinder me from joining the force of the great Indian Litterbug. Now you check for yourself, which side you are supporting. Are you a bug sorry the great Indian Litterbug or just another face trying to keep India and society cleaner.

A Pimple Can Change Your Life

A pimple can change your life may sound cheesy and tagline of some other brand but it is apt for the pimple too. Pimple is one of the most annoying things when it is on your own face or on face of someone you love. You cannot help but get distracted by that little bulge on their cheek or forehead while conversing with them. People try hard to eliminate it from their face and their life. It is quite understandable because no matter how much we say that looks doesn’t matter but in the professional world presentation does matter and you would not want to present your face as a hilly terrain.

Well many might think of the statement of being presentable to be offensive but it is not so. A healthy clean and vibrant face means a healthy body and mind and can help you get that extra stretch in your professional life. It can also be helpful in your love life also because no matter how much your boyfriend or girlfriend loves you they would always prefer to kiss a cheek without pimple than the one with it.

There is one small incident that happened with one my good friends. We studied together in college and she needed a job very badly because she had took educational loan. She had good communication skills and was an average student like me but was very hard working. She got an interview call from one of the local startups for the post of Business Development Executive. She went for the interview and the interview went quite well. She got a regret mail from the company stating they hired a more qualified individual. After few days the same company gave an advertisement for the same post, she was agitated because the company misguided her. She contacted one of the employees in the company (who was our friend) and asked him to find out the reason for her rejection. The answer that came was shocking. The interviewer did not find her presentable.

Throughout the whole year you can find one or two pimples on her face smiling at you. She understood the reason and searched for the ways through which she can eliminate them.

She called me when she got placed in a good company and at really good package. She shared the whole story with me. I listened to her and one thing that I noticed was her face was vibrant and clean. There were no more pimples on her face. I complemented her for appearance and she said she has been using a secret cream for her face. I asked if she could reveal the name of the cream to which she agreed. The word that came out was GarnierFace Wash. She shared her experience of using the face wash and how it has helped her.

From that time I have also started using GarnierFace Wash. It has helped me with my oily skin and has come real handy for the special occasions too.

Locate Quikr To Relocate

Being an IT employee I know what the pain of relocating to a new city is. One of the main problems that an individual face while relocating is that of the accommodation and the furniture. I was born and brought up in Hindi speaking state and rarely had encounter with individuals who were not able understand or converse in the same. When I got a job I was elated and was building castles in the air for the new place I was going to be in. For the training months I was again in a state where majority understood Hindi and the company provided accommodation, so searching for the same was not applicable.

Then after the training I was relocated to Bangalore. Being in a state where I knew very little about the place and the local language worried me a little, until I hit the internet for the search. I was trying to find some accommodation in Bangalore and that is when Quikr came to my rescue. It gave me various options to select the accommodation of my choice. For the initial months in Bangalore, I lived in a PG. I could easily search the accommodation area wise and could set the price range as per my budget. Filtering the ads posted by broker and individuals also proved very helpful for finding PGs without broker and the filtering the ad by dates of post also helped me in finding the most relevant ads.

Once I was done with the accommodation, it became quite easy for me live there. Then after few months after my stay in PG, my friends and I decided to move in a small unfurnished flat. The flat being unfurnished left us with arranging for the furniture on our own and none of us wanted to shell out money for new ones. That is when again Quikr came to the rescue. As I had already used the website previously, it gave me no problem at all to search for the furniture and other stuff that we needed for our flat. We purchased wide array for stuff from Quikr. Logical Arguement

Last weekend I was discussing about some of the random issues with my friend and somewhere I used the word तर्क. He was weak in Hindi and didn’t know what तर्क was. Well the definition that I gave to him was “तर्क is the logical truth”. Although he did not have any issues with the definition but it was me who got a little intrigued by my own definition. I spent some time brooding over the thought of the logical truth.

I was a little fearful to be honest to be dealing with the three words, which are truth, logic and तर्क. I tried to wrestle with them one by one and then coming up with a clear meaning of my own statement.

The first word that I took was Truth. Well many relate this word to spirituality while many relate to correctness and accuracy. The sketch that drew for the truth through the absurd (or might be correct) definition of individuals was that it depends on the individuals who define it. Some say following the path of righteousness is the ultimate truth; while some say truth is feeling happy while who indulge in masochism concludes pain is truth. Well all these points are somewhat true. Actually truth is accepting whatever this life offers. It is not accepting what is wrong but it is accepting the outcome. Accepting the outcome of any action, whether it is right or wrong or any other. Denial of the outcome can never be a form of truth.

Logic is the second word I tried dealing with. Being an engineer and love that I had for physics gave me a different perspective to the word logic. For me logic was something that I used to apply to get to the answers. And the answers that we get after solving an equation are not lies. They are the logically derived truth. Logic meant to me as working towards a problem and finding out legitimate and accepted truth.

Now the word from where this thought of 3 words came into my mind. तर्क became a little clearer. It is the argument comprised of all the logical points to attain the truth that is accepted by all. It is like an effort towards a common solution. तर्क is the argument derived from the much contemplating of the thoughts. It is an important stage in achieving that logical truth. तर्क is always a healthy argument because an unhealthy argument is always a denial and always aimed at proving oneself right.

Let us all practice तर्क and work our way out of the problems.

A Rendezvous With The Past

Last night was a special night for me. It brought me closer to myself. It was just like other night till I met him. He texted me while I was having my evening snack and that is when we agreed to get together for the dinner. The night seemed dark and chilly winds’ chase could be heard right out of the window. I still got out of my house and came back with a monk, an old monk. I lied on the sofa and closed my eyes. Someone was knocking on my conscience and I greeted him with a smile. Tonight I was having a Rendezvous With The Past.

The evening started with a smooth and normal stuff that has happened in the past. I made him comfortable with what has changed in me and life and he patiently listened to it. He was a patient listener and was trying to catch up with the present me. We walked through the date lane and they got shadier as we proceeded. He kept his hand on my shoulder and told me “I know the path from here, let me guide you through”.

We approached a wrecked up structure and stood there. He asked “Do you remember what it is?” He then bent down and picked up a withered rose. I immediately knew what it was; it was wreckage of my relationship. You know you both looked great but without each other, he said jokingly. He took me to the whole wrecked block and pointed to different memories of the endearment. As we were about to reach a different memory lane, he stopped and told me “You have to let go individuals and their memories. Holding onto those is inflicting pain on you. Everyone comes in your life for a reason and lesson. You cannot go through that chapter again and in the same way you cannot close a chapter before you have learned out of it. Letting go is not easy but sticking to it for eternity is not intelligence.”

Just before we changed the block he told me “Let’s cheer you up a little big boy”. We crossed the lane and there we were in a glittery and lively place. He asked “Do you know what it is?”  I recognized a poster that on one of the structures and immediately identified that it was the same poster that I had in my hostel room. I exclaimed “These are my college memories”. “Even better” he said, “these are memories of your friends”. I was awestruck and felt great walking through that block. “Those were great times of your life, right?” I nodded in agreement. “You know they came in your life to give these best times to you. You have these awesome memories with them because you welcomed them into your life. You got to know a fact that friendship is not always easy to maintain. You have to welcome others too, as you progress in your life to make more such kind of awesome memories.”

Then we again treaded on the path of memory lane and soon we found ourselves standing in front of an amusement park. “That’s you childhood”, he said. I was ecstatic walking through the memories of my childhood. It was a treat for me to relive those times in form of memories. Again we reached the end and I turned to him to know his take on this. He smiled and spoke “When we are kids, we find everything amusing but as we grow up we lose interest and everything appears dull. It is not because the world has become less amusing, it is because you have become less curious. Always welcome, accept, argue and learn about the things with the same energy and same enthusiasm that you had when you were a child. Always grow up not down.”

I was pretty tired after so many new routes to the memory lane but he said this is the last that he wants me to see. As I entered that area, I felt a little calmer and wasn't tired anymore. The felt so serene and peaceful to be there, that I didn't came to know when my cheek got wet. He smiled and kept a hand on my shoulder and said “No matter what happens in your life. No matter who comes and goes or how much stress or tension you have. “You will always find peace with the family. Family will always be there for you, through your thick and thin, through your joy and sorrow. Never leave them because how you need them the same way they also need you.”

He was really a man of his words. He departed after that without a good bye and I was there lying on my couch. It took a little time for this experience to sink in. I got up from the couch and called my mum and dad spoke to them for few minutes then spoke to my sister and brother and will be visiting them soon. That experience changed me a little.
